Frequently Asked Questions

Magonia Mushrooms

Who are you?

I'm a small-scale hobby mycologist living in Seattle, WA. I just love learning about mushrooms, growing them, and sharing them with others. This project is motivated by a desire to share my surplus and help others become healthier in mind and body. I'm always open to a message from any friendly soul looking to learn more!

Do you only have microdoses?

No, but microdose capsules are just so convenient! I also offer full, intact dried mushrooms. If the timing is right, I may also have fresh mushrooms available from recent harvests. Message me to get on the waiting list for a fresh batch!

Do you only have one type of mushroom?

No, I offer many different varieties of medicinal mushrooms. Message me to find out what I have at the moment.

I want to grow my own mushrooms. Can you help me?

Yes! I can help educate and guide you on how to grow your own mushrooms. I also have a lot of experience preparing all the materials and cultures you might need, so I can provide those for you too. Message me for a consultation.

Microdosing

What is microdosing?

Microdosing is the practice of taking small doses of medicinal mushrooms, in order to experience long-term benefits without any intense effects. Small doses also reduce the chance of experiencing negative side effects.

How much should I take?

The optimal dose for microdosing varies from person to person. It's best to start with a very small dose and gradually increase it until you find the dose that works best for you.

I recommend starting with 0.1 gram of dried mushrooms, measured with care and intention.

How often should I microdose?

The most common microdosing schedule is to take a small dose every three days. This allows your body to reset and prevents you from building up a tolerance to the drug.

Is microdosing legal?

Short answer: no. However, in some cities in the US, like Seattle and Denver, psychedelics have been decriminalized. This means that you won't be arrested or prosecuted for possessing small amounts of psychedelics for personal use.

Is microdosing safe?

Microdosing is generally considered safe, but it's important to be aware of the potential risks. Some people may experience negative side effects, such as anxiety, paranoia, or increased heart rate.

It's also important to note that microdosing is not a cure-all and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical treatment.

Also, note that SSRIs and other antideppressants can interact with some types of medicinal mushrooms, such as those that act on the serotonin receptors. They may mute or suppress the effects of the mushrooms.
